Paul Gallagher plays at the Inn
Paul Gallagher is one of the most talented and well-known pianist singers around Glasgow & Edinburgh. Paul is a brilliant pianist and singer with a repertoire of over four hundred songs and instrumentals. He can play any style of music for weddings, parties, and special events and is currently filling in for Chris Connelly for 5 to 6 weeks.
Over the past 15 years, Paul has been a resident pianist at the Balmoral hotel Edinburgh, the Caledonian hotel Edinburgh & Mar Hall. He has also been a regular at Hilton Glasgow, Cameron House, Trump Turnberry, Gleneagles, Crowne Plaza, and Gleddoch House. He has performed on numerous occasions at Skibo Castle Dornoch. Paul is a favourite of the Herald Newspaper event team who book him regularly for the Herald Awards.
He continues with a busy schedule of playing solo piano and as part of a jazz quartet.
Paul worked at Beatbox studios in Glasgow, gaining an excellent reputation as a session musician. In his time there, he worked with Hue and Cry, The Bluebells, Eddie Reader, Alan Rankin (the Associates), Belle and Sebastian, the Sensational Alex Harvey band and many others.
Paul was performing one night at the Corinthian Club Glasgow and was invited to perform for his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales at the Palace of Holyrood House in Edinburgh Paul performed eight times in all at the palace.
Paul started learning classical piano at the age of nine and was soon performing for his school. In Secondary School, Paul played with the school Orchestra and bands gaining valuable experience and fine-tuning his playing.
After high school, Paul went to Perth Music College, where he studied piano with the great jazz pianists Jimmy Henry and the Jazz legend Peggy O’Keefe and jazz singer Pamela Maclean of the Maclean sisters.
